A group of determined cats collaborate in the most unlikely way to get their letters into a red postbox. Standing in a wobbly pyramid, one balances on another s shoulders, paws outstretched, while another perches precariously on top to reach the slot. A squirrel, mouse, and bird join in the effort, each clutching envelopes as if part of this animal postal service. Colourful flowers bloom in the foreground, while a wooden fence and trees frame the backdrop, giving the whole scene a suburban garden feel. The leader at the top, paws extended, looks triumphant as the letter finally reaches its destination. The humour comes from the sheer absurdity of animals taking human responsibility so seriously, as well as their mismatched teamwork. The cartoon plays on the phrase ‘better late than never’, suggesting the chaos and delay of the delivery was worth it in the end. The artwork captures persistence, mischief, and cooperation with a playful twist.
