If you’ve ever wondered what happens when a paintbrush meets a punchline, and a cat decides she’s the real muse, welcome to my studio – or, as I like to call it, “The Scene of the Crime”. My days as an illustrator are a perfect palette of artistic ambition, feline interference, and the gentle acceptance that my best-laid plans will probably end up with paw prints across them. Here’s the thing: in my world, laughter is just as essential as linseed oil.
When the world turned upside down in 2020, like so many others, I found myself at home more than ever before. The streets fell silent, the routines we knew were suspended, and the usual hum of daily life became strangely muffled. At first, I’ll admit, I struggled to find my footing. The urge to create was still there, but what does one sketch when the world outside is reduced to one’s own four walls?
After years of sketchbooks, scribbles, and serendipitous stories, I’m absolutely thrilled to welcome you to the newly refreshed website for The Way We Are. This has been a long time coming, and finally putting pen to digital paper (so to speak) feels a bit like stepping into a freshly painted studio with a cup of tea in hand and a world of possibilities ahead.
